The din and the bustle ove his contemporary and friend Kamal Hassan’s new film ‘Viswaroopam, over, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s forthcoming film ‘kochadaiyaan’ is getting ready for world-wide release with dubbing, re-recording and special effects work set to begin from March 15.
The film in which Rajini’s younger daughter Soundarya had made her directorial debut, stars Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone in the female lead. ‘We spent the last two months in ‘active post production work’, Ms Soundarya , announced in a press release here this evening. Supervised by one of Tamil cinema’s most successful Director K S Ravikumar, the fully edited ‘kochadaiyaan’, was screened in its raw form to Rajnikanth here today, Soundarya said. Mr Ravikumar and the entire team of the film who was with him at the screening opined that the canvas of the film was much larger than expected.
In addition to the original Tamil, the film is to be dubbed in Telugu, Hindi and English languages also ‘kochadaiyaan’ will be the first release for Rajinikanth after he fell ill during the mahurat of a new film ‘Raana’ in which he was to play three roles, in 2011. He was also rushed to Singapore for medical treatment, after which this film was launched instead. ‘kochadaiyaan’ , shot in March 2012 over a span of 25 days, is Asia’s first performance capturing film. This technology was used before only in ‘Avataar’ and ‘Tin Tin’.
